What is an example of an EMOM?

An example of an EMOM (Every Minute On the Minute) workout would be:

  • 10-minute EMOM of Deadlifts:
  • On the first minute, perform 8 reps of deadlifts with a moderate weight
  • On the second minute, perform 6 reps of deadlifts with an increased weight
  • On the third minute, perform 4 reps of deadlifts with a heavy weight
  • Repeat this pattern for the entire 10 minutes.

In this example, the workout is set for 10 minutes, and the exercise is Deadlifts. Each minute, at the start of the minute, you will perform the reps stated, then rest for the remainder of the minute. This pattern is repeated for the entire 10 minutes. This workout targets the lower body, and it's challenging muscular endurance as well as strength.

Another example of an EMOM workout could be:

  • 12-minute EMOM of Push-ups and Box Jumps:
  • On the first minute, perform 8 reps of push-ups
  • On the second minute, perform 10 reps of box jumps
  • Repeat this pattern for the entire 12 minutes.

In this example, the workout is set for 12 minutes, and the exercises are push-ups and box jumps. Each minute, at the start of the minute, you will perform the reps stated, then rest for the remainder of the minute. This pattern is repeated for the entire 12 minutes. This workout targets the upper body and lower body as well as cardiovascular endurance.

As you can see, EMOM workouts can be tailored to your specific fitness level and goals and can include a variety of exercises, such as weightlifting, cardio, and bodyweight exercises.
