What Was Your Life Like Before Your Transformation?I was born legally blind with cataracts and other issues impairing my vision. Growing up I had many procedures to fix my vision.
Despite my impairment, I had played sports my entire life but was always the smallest kid on the team. I was bullied for being so small and for being the "blind kid."
After I had graduated and been dumped by my (at the time) girlfriend who had left me for another person, I decided to start training with a proper workout split and good nutrition. I fell in love with every aspect of it.
Since my transformation, no one's made fun of me for the way I look or my eyes. They recognize the hard work, dedication, and love I have for training. I even won first place in a bodybuilding show last year (in men's physique).
What Were Your Major Struggles or Challenges?Honestly, the only struggle was getting others to understand why I loved it. Regardless of what I had fallen in love with training and a healthier lifestyle the moment I bought a gym membership and had my very first workout there.
Detail Your Workout and Cardio Plan During Your TransformationI did a push/pull/legs, arms/shoulders, push/pull/legs seven-day split. I focused on going as heavy as possible during my compound movements and supersetting my isolation exercises.
I would do five sets of 3-12 reps on all compound movements. While isolation exercises I would superset three sets of 6-12 reps.
Detail Your Diet/Eating Plan During Your TransformationI primarily focused on eating as much as possible and taking in an ample amount of protein. I only recently started taking nutrition seriously and have seen tremendous progress since then.
Detail Your Supplement Plan During Your TransformationI only used
creatine pre-workout and protein throughout my transformation.
What Was Your Major Accomplishment, or Major Milestones?I began competing in men's physique and ended up placing first in a recent show. I soon after was signed by AIM model management in NYC to be a model and picked up a sponsorship along the way.
Detail Your 3 Biggest Mistakes
- Ego lifting - using too much weight.
- Lack of knowledge about nutrition.
- Not eating enough to grow.
3 Biggest Things You Learned During Your Transformation?
- It doesn't matter how much your physique has grown if you haven't grown as a person along the way.
- You get out what you put in. And sometimes you won't get anything in return. But you'll never get any results without giving it your all.
- It's not about where you start. But how and where you finish.
Final Words of Advice for Others Looking to Make a Change?Do the proper research. Train with passion. And have fun.
