What Was Your Life Like Before Your Transformation?I always have been big but this time I got BIG. I couldn't do anything too energetic. I had a general feeling of self-loathing.
I avoided mirrors like the plague. Asthma was troubling me. Lack of confidence. High blood pressure.
And I looked like $hit!
I can't say it was a major event that caused me to change. It was more of just a conscious decision to do it and I was sick and tired of hating my reflection.
What Were Your Major Struggles or Challenges?I would say that the actual diet side of it was relatively easy once I had researched and actually found out about nutrition rather than just stopping eating. Listening to
Marc Lobliner give advice on his Youtube videos, and downloading his free guides helped enormously.
Joining a gym was quite a hard thing as it was such an alien environment. But once you're into it it's great.
Detail Your Workout and Cardio Plan During Your TransformationI go to the gym 4 times a week for approx one hour a day and I jog 2 - 3 miles the other 3 days. I also do a few pull ups, sit ups and push ups in the house whenever I get chance.
Detail Your Diet/Eating Plan During Your Transformation
I follow a strict diet (I don't like calling it a diet as it's just the way I eat now). I love the
My Fitness Pal app as it helps you keep track of your calories and your macros and just seems to help keep you in line and actually helps you figure out which foods are ok to eat.
An average day for me is:
- Breakfast - Oats, a scoop of protein powder and a banana.
- Snack #1 - Blueberries and Greek yogurt.
- Lunch - chicken, rice and a veggie.
- Snack #2 - Two rice cakes.
- Dinner - Fish and salad.
Detail Your Supplement Plan During Your TransformationNot too many supplements at the moment (just protein powder) as I'm trying to lose weight and wanted to see how far I could go before using anything to help. But as I get closer to "bulking" I will definitely be trying some Tiger Fitness products.
What Was Your Major Accomplishment, or Major Milestones?Being able to look in the mirror and be genuinely happy with what I see. Being small in t-shirts. Being a 30" waist. People asking me for my meal plan.
Detail Your 3 Biggest Mistakes
- Trying to lift too heavy too early and hurting my shoulder.
- Cutting too many calories at the start.
- Buying new clothes that now don't fit as I've lost a lot more weight.
3 Biggest Things You Learned During Your Transformation?
- Be prepared for people to say you've listed too much weight.
- People asking if you're ill.
- I feel a lot more confident.
Final Words of Advice for Others Looking to Make a Change?Do it for you and for you alone. Don't look at it as being on a diet. Diets end and it
should just be your new way of eating. Also, download My Fitness Pal app and research nutrition.
Stay strong and don't be afraid to ask for advice, people will be more than happy to help you.
