After winning his first show, he realized that bodybuilding is what he always wanted to do.

The increase of 100 lbs of muscle from the year when he began training until today is only one proof of his dedication and motivation for the sport.
One of the reasons why Justin Compton succeeded in bodybuilding were the weights bought by his parents. Upon seeing immediate results from weight training, he found a training partner and began entering amateur competitions. These wins inspired him to turn professional.
Justin Compton got his pro card in 2012, after graduating with a degree in engineering at the Moorehead University. This was also the year when Compton met Hany Rambod and worked together for a short-term before his first professional competitions.
However, the results for Compton were most visible two years later, when he won the 2014 Europa Orlando SuperShow and qualified for the 50th Anniversary of Joe Weider’s Olympia.
At the end of 2014, Hany booked Compton to guest pose on the 2014 NPC Sacramento Championships, when he was offered an athlete endorsement contract with Evogen Nutrition (owned by Hany). Immediately after that, Justin and Hany began making plans for the 2015 competition season.
In 2015, Compton competed at the 2015 IFBB Arnold Sports Festival and the IFBB Arnold Classic Australia, finishing 3rd in both events. In 2016, Compton has placed 10th at the 2016 Mr. Olympia (Heavyweight).
In most of his interviews, Justin says that “having a coach can go a long way”, pointing to his mentorship and partnership with Hany Rambod as one of the most successful coaches that he was proud of having. Compton also took some time out to bulk before appearing on the big events, which was according to him (and his trainer) the best possible preparation plan.
This is how Compton managed to attract international attention and how he eventually got his IFBB Pro Card.
