American Grit With John Cena: Cast, Show Information & Episode Recap

American Grit featuring WWE superstar John Cena (Instagram @johncena) is a new reality TV series that will be premiering April 14th, 2016, on Fox.

The show is comprised of 10 episodes, all competition based. 16 of America's toughest men and women will tackle some of the most intense and thrilling challenges reality TV has ever seen. American Grit will be the ultimate test of the human spirit, strength, grit and teamwork.

Episodes feature four teams who will work together to face military-grade and survival-style tests. The show's civilian competitors will be pushed to their limits and beyond by John Cena and a collection of some of the most veteran and hardcore real life heroes from exclusive military units. Known as "the Cadre," these mentors include:

• Rorke Denver - Navy Seal Commander and author. Led special forces missions in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and several other "hot" international zones. Author of the New York Times bestseller Damn Few. Starred in the feature film Act of Valor. Instagram @rorketdenver.
• Noah Galloway - A US Army solider who lost part of his left arm and left leg during the Iraq War. Noah is also a motivational speaker and model, and was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars season 20. Instagram @noahgallowayathlete.
• Tawanda ?Tee? Hanible - Gunnery Sgt. "Tee" Hanible is the founder of the organization American Heroes Connect, a group that pairs soldiers and veterans as full-time mentors for at-risk youth. Instagram @therealteemarie.
• Nick ?The Reaper? Irving - Former Special Forces Direct Action Sniper in the 3rd Ranger Battalion. Nicknamed "The Reaper" because of a confirmed body count of 33, Nick Irving wrote and published a book about his time in the military called The Reaper: Autobiography of One of the Deadliest Special Ops Snipers. American Grit will embody the military mantra "no man left behind." Only the team that places first in the main competition will be safe from elimination. Each episode will culminate with a brutal and punishing event called "The Circus," designed to separate the strong contestants from the weak.

Produced by Leftfield Pictures, American Grit will have up to a million dollars in prize money up for grabs.

Marc "The Machine" Lobliner Discusses His American Grit Experience

I embarked on a journey unlike anything I have ever done. Alongside 15 other elite athletes including an Olympic gold medalist and an NFL wide receiver, I represented a sport known more for its non-functional looks than its athleticism -  bodybuilding.

I was challenged in a way that I never imagined possible, pushing beyond my physical limitations through mental fortitude. Where the mind leads the body follows, and I wasn?t about to let my family and supporters down.
