Why Do Bodybuilders Want Her Breast Milk?
Okay, so get this... A 24-year-old mother of two has made more than $6,000 selling breast milk to men.
Rafaela Lamprou was producing more milk than she could store, so she turned to moms who were having trouble breastfeeding. She then started to give it away to them.

After word got around, Lamprou started receiving requests from men who wanted to drink it. "It started with men who were interested in bodybuilding," she said. "They say it is good for building muscle mass."
Lamprou created a Facebook group for those who want to request a tall glass of milk. Once the bodybuilders started spreading the work, Lamprou started to get inquiries from men with a fetish for it. She now breast-feeds on demand.
Since first starting her Facebook group, Lamprou has produced and sold more than 132 gallons of milk to strangers. She regularly ships to the UK and throughout her home country.
She says that her husband is so supportive of her and she is now sure how much longer she will keep this up.
Does Breast Milk Help You Make Gains?
"People think breast milk is good for you because it is a 'natural' source of hormones and antibodies and is nutrient dense and high in protein," says Kelly Pritchett, R.D., a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. "But there is no scientific evidence that suggests there are benefits for adults."
Since breast milk is easy to digest and is comprised of the perfect amount of fat, sugar, water, and protein, pediatrics recommend breastfeeding for the first six months of a baby's life.
"There is no real evidence that breast milk has any type of protective role in the health of adults." - Elisa Zied, a registered dietitian nutritionist in New York.
A pediatrician and medical communications editor at the Boston Children's Hospital, Dr. Claire McCarthy says that "Breast milk contains immunoglobulins that help fight infection - but they are immunoglobulins that, for the most part, adults have and infants don't."
She also noted that "human milk was meant for humans while cow's milk was meant for cows. By that reasoning, human milk would be healthier for people to drink than cow's milk. But at the same time, it's also meant for human babies, not adults."
In fact, people on popular forums have been quoted saying:
"I made the greatest gains of my life on breast milk, an unrivaled 35 pounds in ten months. If you were to ask me now what I thought was the supplement that gives you the best value, I'd say breast milk."
While I've not been able to get some gains straight from the tap, there may be some truth to this.
The reason this could be feasible is due to the fact that 1 cup of breast milk is about 170 calories, 10 grams of fat, 16 carbs, and 2 grams of protein. In order to build muscle, you need to eat more.

Alternatively, 1 cup of whole milk has 150 calories, 8 grams of fat, 12 carbs, and 8 grams of protein.
Do I think you can make gains on breast milk? Sure. Do I think it's your best option? No.
Are There Any Drawbacks to Using Breast Milk?
From cost to contamination, there are a lot of drawbacks to supplement using breast milk.
The risk of disease when drinking breast milk from an unknown source is sketchy at best. Since milk is a bodily fluid, they can and will carry infections that are in the body. HIV, hepatitis, and others can be found.
The quality of milk you get is unregulated - if the woman you buy breast milk from eats like garbage and doesn't take care of herself... you'll receive that same quality milk.
So, What's the Verdict?
Breast milk is produced by the mother so that the baby can rapidly grow. Note, the baby can grow.
Results are inconclusive, but the benefits that babies get from drinking breast milk is not the same for adults.
A better option would be to try nutritious foods such as Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, nut butters, and even chocolate milk to ramp up your gains.

Breast milk doesn't seem like a worthwhile investment, so here are some better choices that you could make with your supplement choices.

Suckling from the teet of a pregnant woman, while doesn't sound terrible, is not the best way to try to make gains.
If the woman's diet is poor, the quality of her milk will be poor. Diseases like HIV can be transmitted through breast milk - buyer beware if you are buying from an unknown source.
