What Was Your Life Like Before Your Transformation?

I was always more concerned about beating the next level of my new video game while sipping on endless amounts of Mountain Dew and feeding myself with Chinese buffets, pizza, and Taco Bell. I also was going through a low point in my life. My fiance' had left me which led to some major partying and little motivation to do anything with my life.

I had always been overweight, but after the rough patch in my life I had mentioned above, I became depressed, unmotivated, lazy and ate as a way to cope.

My turning point was one morning after looking in the mirror and hating what I was. I finally put my foot down and said, "this is it. this is the day."

I got a gym membership and started researching meal plans and routines that day. I also figured that if I could lose a few lbs, I could get back out on the dating field. ;)

What Were Your Major Struggles or Challenges?

My major struggle was really just overcoming my love of food. I still do to this day, but like many other people out there, I limit myself to a cheat meal here and there to cope. Another struggle for me was accepting my physique at any point throughout the transformation.

After being overweight my entire life, I always have the mentality that I'm still fat.

Detail Your Workout and Cardio Plan During Your Transformation

To start my cardio was nothing extreme, once a day after weights and lifting 4-5 times a week. I have also done some HIIT training off and on and 2/day cardio sessions

Detail Your Diet/Eating Plan During Your Transformation

I guess you could call it bro style. Lots of lean proteins, moderate to low carb and low fats. 6x a day every day with the exception of a Sunday cheat meal

Detail Your Supplement Plan During Your Transformation

Supplements I use really don't get too fancy. Protein, creatine, glutamine, multivitamin, fish oil. That's really about it.

What Was Your Major Accomplishment, or Major Milestones?
Brennen TransformsMy major milestone was in October of 2013. I had competed in the NPC Northstar in Minnesota. And with the dedication I learned from following a healthy lifestyle and becoming involved in bodybuilding, I went to school for Med/Fire science and graduated with honors and am now a firefighter/paramedic working in Sioux Falls.

Detail Your 3 Biggest Mistakes
  1. Not eating enough.
  2. Being afraid of carbs.
  3. Hanging around non-poisonous individuals.

Final Words of Advice for Others Looking to Make a Change?

YOU CAN DO THIS! I have done what many call impossible and anyone else out there can too. There were many many times that I had wanted to stop but I reminded myself of all the times I had failed in the past and stood strong.

The dictionary is the only time that success comes before work, nothing worth having is meant to be easy...nothing.
