It's now, more than ever before, in vogue to show yourself performing one of the Big 5' strength liftssquat, deadlift, bench press, clean/presses, and snatches. (Even ladies are into building a more shapely booty, squatting with heavy weights.)
When I first started lifting seriously, back in the 80's (and yes, I proudly wore the Otomix shoes, ruffled socks, Hotskins spandex pants, Serge Nubret string tank top, T-Michael sweatshirt and the infamous fanny-packand I have pictures to prove it. LMAO!), there weren't mobile phone with cameras. So regrettably, I lost out on the era of being able to show off my latest 600lb-plus squat with my lifting buddies. Lol.
Even so, like you, I prefer to incorporate the strength-building, compound movements into my lifting schedule. It's important for many reasons, least of which is the chance to snap a shot of a power-building movement in mid action.
All joking aside, these lifts are fundamental and should be made the basis of every weight-lifters program. Whether you're a bodybuilder, Cross-fitter, bikini model, fitness fanatic, or just want to get stronger, these strength and power lifts are a must if you want to build a respectable physique.
Stephen Adele' from iSatori presents an overview of the strength-bolstering ingredients founds in Maxon. Click here to order. While most of us won't be competing in the Olympics weight-lifting anytime soon, one thing will never change: that is, our desire to gain pure strength. In this write-up, I'd like to introduce you to a new, innovative dietary supplement that helps to do just that. It's called MAXON. At iSatori, I helped to develop this cutting-edge formula and I'd like to break down, in brevity, each ingredient and what the science has to say about how it can help build up your maximum lifts and help you bust through your next PR (personal record) in the gym.
The 5 Powerhouse Ingredients Found in iSatori Maxon
ElevATP® (Ancient Peat)ElevATP is a proprietary, clinically researched combination of a water extract of ancient peat' (fossilized plants) and apple extract that works with our bodies' natural producing mechanism to stimulate the production of ATP (Adenosine-Tri-Phosphate) the energy pool of the body. Within the cells of our body (intracellular) exists ATP, which is well known for acting as the primary source of cellular energy, and along with creatine (we'll talk about the significance of this later on), and when elevated levels are present in the blood is responsible for controlling muscular excitement, which directly stimulates muscular contractile strength and ultimately hypertrophy.
ElevATP is the only natural form of supplementation that is documented, in recent clinical studies, to show statistically significant elevated levels of ATP in blood (via muscle biopsy) by 40%, 60 minutes after acute ingestion, as well as subsequent strength gains with consistent use.
Participants in a study who supplemented with Torabolic® experienced a 15 pound bench press one rep max increase over the course of 8 weeks.
Torabolic is a fenugreek seed extract, which is standardized (guaranteed for potency and purity) for steroidal saponins, specifically to 70% Trigimannose.
Torabolic oftentimes gets confused with Testofen, because it too comes from fenugreek; however, the major difference being the saponins extracted. There's over 100 different saponin constituents and each provide a unique effect in the body. Torabolic, which provides Trigimannose, has been documented in recent clinical studies to help significantly increase strength on two primary lifts upper and lower body.
Subjects in the study, who supplemented with Torabolic in a double-blind study for eight weeks, experienced a total 95 pound increase (80 pounds in 1MR leg press and 15 pounds in 1MR in bench press) in these lifts, over those who used the placebo, yet followed the same diet and training program.
Creatine HCLCreatine hydrochloride (creatine HCL) is a form of creatine where the molecule is bound to a hydrochloric acid moiety.
It's primary claim to fame is that Creatine HCL requires lower dosages than its counterpart, monohydrate, because the creatine is buffered and thus is more easily transported through the stomach. In fact, research shows us that when subjects consume the same amount of Creatine HCL and Creatine monohydrate, the Creatine HCL is absorbed by the intestines by about 60% better than Creatine monohydrate. And as a result, there's also been some anecdotal suggestions that creatine HCL doesn't require loading, nor causes bloating.
Though, admittedly, there is lacking evidence on the latter two points. Still, creatine is vital to the formula's overall beneficial effects, in working with the ElevATP and Agmatine sulphate (AGMAFLOW).
AGMAFLOW (Agmatine Sulphate)Agmatine is a metabolite of the amino acid, L-arginine. Its recent rise in popularity as a sports performance workout supplement has brought it to the forefront of the scientific community. Interestingly, Agmatine is considered to be a neurotransmitter and neuromodulator, which means it helps the brain chemicals connect and "talk" to each other.
Agmatine has several mechanisms, but most notable to weight-lifters is that it can inhibit nitric oxide synthase enzymes, which allows it to maximize levels of nitric oxide and thus produce, at least anecdotally, what many lifters a calling, "a more superior pump" to regular nitric oxide supplements like Arginine. Agmatine, with induced nitric oxide levels in the blood should therefore be able to deliver more nutrients to the blood-filled muscles.
And although Agmatine is the relatively new kid on the block, as far as muscular performance, it has at least already produced an impressive safety track record from studies, even at high doses.
One caveat, though, it's been noted that Agmatine is not absorbed well when taken with protein powder supplements, because it competes for the same transporters as Arginine. So, it's advisable that we consume Agmatine without protein or protein-containing foods.
Sodium BicarbonateSodium bicarbonate, which you may also know as baking soda, is a little known "secret" we like to use in dietary supplementation for enhanced absorption and delivery through the gut.
Sodium bicarbonate is used in many popular pharmaceutical drugs as a mechanism to help deliver their active ingredient through the gut. It does this by opening up the channels by which broken down nutrients drive their way through the gut wall.
It's a basic household ingredient, but it really works wonders, as simple as it sounds, to help with delivering more ingredients through the gut. The more that's absorbed, the better their effect, right. Further, there is a mild performance benefit to Sodium bicarbonate, which studies have shown to buffer blood and allow for greater muscular output.
Putting It All Together How MAXON Works To Improve StrengthBut how does it all work together? Let me share that with you
I like to explain things that are scientifically dense in practical terms that makes it easier for us to comprehend. I've listened to enough scientific conferences over the years to realize there is a limit to everyone's intelligence (and trust me, I'm neve the smartest guy in the room), and while I am certainly not trying to suggest you've hit yours, rather in this instance, I'd like to use some metaphors which should help to understand the mechanism of action surrounding MAXON, and how it can help you improve strength in acute usage, in a way that will be easily understood and explainable (should someone else ask you how does Maxon work?").
Imagine Torablic (trigimannose) as the landscaper and foreman. ATP as a reservoir that holds a pool of water. Next, imagine the creatine as water. And last, Agmatine is the "pump". When you consume MAXON, here is what's essentially happening in our body:
- Torabolic, the landscaper and foreman, is setting the environmental surroundings so that everyone can come in and do their job.
- ElevATP, the reservoir, expands to allow as much water as possible.
- Creatine HCL, the water, fills up the reservoir as much as possible, trying to overflow, so long as more is readily present.
- AGAMFLOW, the pump, helps to pump or deliver the water into and out of the reservoir to be used.
Creatine that is present, or stored with the muscle cells, "donates" a phosphate group (energy) to ADP, turning this molecule back to ATP. This constant cycle is going on repeatedly within our muscle cells during resistant weight-training or anaerobic activity. [Back to my analogy].
By increasing the overall size of the reservoir (ATP), it can store more water (creatine) to be reserved for use when its needed; and likewise, the more water (creatine) we can store in the enlarged reservoir (ATP), and the faster we can pump' (Agmatine) that water in and out of the reservoir, the more readily available this cycle is able to be converted; and thus, the greater the muscular contractions and propensity for strength increases. Make sense? Good.
There you have it. MAXON: Innovation with intelligent simplicity, yet a formula combination that produces powerfully synergistic effects in building strength through science. Of course, you still need to be eating plenty of quality macros, training intensely and or progressively, and there's certainly no magic pill for building a more muscular physique; though MAXON, if used as directed, will most definitely help to improve your strength and power lifts with consistent use.
